Vaisala News 162/2003

Vaisala News issue 162, dedicated to weather observation products and systems, was published May 27, 2003. The magazine discusses use of weather observation systems in extreme conditions, for instance Vaisala AUTOSONDE in severe weather observations in Korea and Vaisala MAWS Automatic Weather Station on Everest Monitoring Expedition 2001. Additionally, customer case stories include the new LLWAS system at Singapore Changi airport, and air quality monitoring in Torino with the Vaisala LAP®-3000 Lower Atmosphere Profiler. Applications of lightning detection systems are discussed in two articles.
